Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed discussed in a meeting on Monday with Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abu El-Gheit means to continue extending medical support to Arab countries, especially those suffering from economic problems as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said Zayed’s meeting with Abu El-Gheit came on the sidelines of the 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health, which was held via video conference at the Arab League’s headquarters.

Megahed said Zayed hailed the efforts exerted by Abu El-Gheit to promote Arab cooperation in the field of healthcare.

For his part, Abu El-Gheit expressed the keenness of the Council of Arab Ministers of Health to develop the performance of Arab medical teams to increase their efficiency.

He praised efforts exerted by Zayed to offer support for Arab brethren and health institutions in the aftermath of the pandemic.
