Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Cairo informed its citizens on Tuesday of an Egyptian decision to impose a $25 dollar entry visa fee for every visitor coming from an Arab country.
The Egyptian decision issued by the Interior Ministry earlier this month excludes countries that share bilateral or regional agreements with Egypt of mutual exemptions from visa fees.
“As the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is among the Arab countries that are included by the decision, the embassy has been keen to brief esteemed Saudi citizens of this procedure,” the embassy said.
It added that the decision came into effect on 14 March and explained that the $25 fee can be collected in US dollars or the equivalent amount in any other currency, including Saudi riyals.
The Egyptian government has secured the fee collection services at bank offices at the airport working throughout the day.
