Egypt’s Giza Zoo announced on Monday that two healthy African lion cubs were born at the Cairo-based zoo.

The two cubs who were born last week were named Rasha and Sukar.

According to Giza Zoo, both the cubs and the mother lioness are in perfect health.

This counts as the first birth of two cubs at the Giza zoo in a year.

Currently, there are 30 lions at Giza zoo, the oldest zoological garden in Africa and the Middle East.

On 25 January, 2021, Giza Zoo celebrated 130 years since its inauguration.
