Civil protection units have managed to control a fire that broke out Saturday evening at shops adjunct to Zagazig railway station.
The fire, which engulfed a number of shops, has reportedly caused no injuries.
Videos and photos showing the firefighters trying to control the fire have widely circulated on social media.
Brigadier General Mohamed Adly, Director of Civil Protection at El-Sharqia, told Ahram Arabic news gate that there is no need to amplify the incident which has already been controlled successfully using one fire truck only.
The civil protection department and ambulances rushed to the scene immediately after the fire broke out.
Egyptian Railway Authority's officials affirmed in media reports that the fire has not affected the movement of trains, stressing that all railway traffic is operating normally.
