In Photos: 8 million Egyptian students examined as part of presidential health initiative

Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed said Monday more than 8 million primary school pupils have been examined so far as part of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's health initiative for the early detection of anemia, obesity and dwarfing among children in the first stage of their basic education since the start of the initiative last November till today.

The examination is part of her ministry's keenness on the health and safety of children since the early age of their life, said the minister.

Ministry spokesman Khaled Megahed said the initiative, carried out in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, aims at checking all Egyptian and non-Egyptian pupils in 29,444 government and private schools across the country to improve their health.

He added that all precautionary measures were taken during the implementation of the initiative to protect the pupils from COVID-19.
