Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Wednesday chaired a meeting to follow up the results of the 1st phase of the "Decent Life" initiative endorsed by President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to improve the quality of life in rural areas.

The 1st phase included 375 villages nationwide.

Madbouly also followed up the implementation status of a number of projects in the villages of 51 townships covered by the initiative's 2nd phase.

He stressed the great importance President El-Sisi attaches to the initiative, which aims to improve citizens' quality of life at all levels.

Briefing the premier on the latest progress in the projects listed on her ministry's plan for the current fiscal year, Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said said that as many as 2,705 classrooms have been built and 5,582 are under construction, while the bidding process for another 321 classrooms is still in progress.
