Egypt warned on Friday of a gradual rise in temperatures nationwide starting Saturday, with the peak forecasted for Monday.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said temperatures would rise starting Saturday, with sand-laden wind in some regions in the west.
Similar forecasts will be felt on Sunday, with sand-laden winds nationwide and a chance of light rainfall in some areas in southern Upper Egypt.
Monday is set to be the peak of the heatwave, the EMA said, with temperatures in Cairo soaring up to 41 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures will then begin to drop starting Tuesday, north of the country to Greater Cairo, falling by eight to 12 degrees Celsius.
Despite the drop in temperatures starting Tuesday, sandy wind will still be experienced in several parts of the country until Thursday.
