British University in Egypt provides wind turbines to generate electricity for Egyptian countryside

The British University in Egypt (BUE) and the Egyptian Countryside Development Company signed a protocol for cooperation on installment of wind turbines to generate electricity, and provision of technical support in new and renewable energy and water desalination.

The protocol was inked by BUE acting president Yehia Bahieddin and managing director of the Egyptian Countryside Development Company Amr Abdel-Wahab, a university statement said on Saturday.

The protocol is aimed at generating electricity in the Upper Egypt governorate of Minya through the turbines that will be donated by the university to the Egyptian countryside to support efforts of extracting groundwater for irrigation and drinking in the new urban and agricultural areas.
