President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi paid tribute and homage on Thursday to the martyrs of duty of the Egyptian Armed Forces who achieved victory in the 10th of Ramadan — 6th of October — war against Israel in 1973.
The 6th of October war started on the 10th day of the holy month of Ramadan in 1973 according to the Islamic Hijri calendar. It falls today this year.
“This precious memory reflects the genius of the Egyptian military in retrieving the land and conquering the impossible,” he wrote on his social media accounts.
El-Sisi said "the martyrs' spirit of perseverence inspires to safeguard the dignity of the homeland and to sacrifice in order to win any battle in life."
