Egypt reported 261 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday, bringing the total infection tally officially to 281,031 since the outbreak began in February 2020.

The health ministry also reported 23 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 16,148.

The statement said that 323 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 210,805.
