President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the progress Egypt is currently witnessing as well as its quest to develop its full potential are mainly aimed at development, construction and peace as well as maintaining the security and stability of the entire region.
He made the remarks on Tuesday as he received a delegation of Greek and Cypriot youth of Egyptian origin as part of “reviving roots” presidential initiative in the presence of Emigration Minister Nabila Makram along with the main sponsor of the youth journey program and the head of the Greek community in Egypt.
During the meeting, president Sisi said launching the Egyptian-Greek-Cypriot reviving roots initiative was based on the three countries’ shared history, Presidency spokesman Bassam Rady said.
Sisi asserted Egypt’s keenness to continue supporting bridges of communication between the peoples and societies of the three countries, noting that trilateral cooperation represents a model to follow in the Mediterranean region.
The president told the youth delegation that their visit is a key step toward helping to deepen communication between the current generations of the three countries.
Meanwhile, the delegation members expressed their pleasure at meeting President Sisi, affirming that
Egypt embodies the values of tolerance, coexistence and human interaction.
They hailed the great development they witnessed in Egypt.
