President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi said on Friday that the 23 July 1952 Revolution changed Egypt on the political, economic, and social levels.

In a speech marking the 69th anniversary of the revolution, the president said Egypt was capable of preserving the gains of its people.

“The influence of the great July Revolution extended beyond Egypt to the region and the world, inspiring other peoples who aspired for freedom and independence,” El-Sisi said.

The president paid tribute to late president Mohamed Naguib who led the revolution and late president Gamal Abdel-Nasser who worked to achieve the aspirations of the Egyptian people for social justice and freedom.

As challenges differ from time to time, Egypt’s current challenges include terrorism, said El-Sisi.

“From the 23 July Revolution to Arab wars, restoring land, and achieving peace, today's challenges include terrorism, which the Egyptian armed forces and police managed to control,” he added.

Other challenges include working hard to achieve comprehensive development within the framework of a national strategic vision which started by implementing an integrated social and economic reform programme, the president stated.

“I am confident that the Egyptian people are capable of achieving miracles through hard work for the best interest of their nation,” he said.
