President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Thursday issued directives to forge ahead with efforts for developing maritime transport and ports nation-wide due to the importance of Egypt's geographic location in the world.

The president's instructions came during a meeting with Egypt's Navy Commander Ahmed Khaled and top brass of the Naval Forces.

Presidential Spokesman Bassam Rady said the president was briefed on the broadstrokes of the most cutting-edge technologies introduced to develop Egypt's ports.
