Serbian Foreign Minister Nikola Selakovic on Monday paid a visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) in Old Cairo's Fustat neighborhood, accompanied by Serbian Ambassador in Cairo Suzana Bošković.

Deputy for the Chief Executive Officer of the Museum's Authority Fayrouz Fikry received the Serbian delegation upon arrival at the museum and said the visit is one in a series of visits of public figures and international officials since the inauguration of the museum last April, according to a statement by the Tourism and Antiquities Ministry.

Fikry went on to say Selakovic and his accompanying delegation toured the central display hall and the hall of royal mummies.

In turn, the Serbian foreign minister highly admired the museum and its ancient Egyptian artifacts, which express the old civilization of Egypt over different ages.

Selakovic - in televised remarks - urged the Serbian people to visit Egypt and enjoy places of attraction and products in the country.
