Sudanese FM, Egyptian ambassador probe bilateral relations

Sudanese Foreign Minister Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi discussed on Tuesday with Egyptian Ambassador in Khartoum Hossam Eissa bilateral relations, in addition to efforts of supporting Sudan’s transitional period, Egyptian Foriegn Ministry said. 

According to a ministry statement, the Sudanese foreign minister thanked Egypt for its immediate help to the victims of floods and torrential rains that hit the country, pointing out to Cairo’s efforts to launch an airlift of humanitarian aid earlier this week to support those worst affected.

She said the two countries’ joint committees on joint cooperation in various fields shall submit a periodic report to the Egyptian and Sudanese foreign ministries twice a month, to be then submitted to the leadership in both countries.

Al-Mahdi urged further cooperation between Cairo and Khartoum in the fields of energy, trade exchange and training in various fields.

Meanwhile, the Egyptian ambassador affirmed Cairo's unwavering support for Khartoum, as well as its keenness to promote mutual cooperation in all fields, coordinate positions, and exchange support in international forums.
