Egypt reported 378 new coronavirus cases on Tuesday bringing the total infection tally officially to 290,773 since the outbreak began in February 2020, said Health Ministry in its daily coronavirus update statement.
The health ministry also reported in its statement 10 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 16,811.
The statement added that 674 patients have been discharged after recovering from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 243,297 .
According to recent statements of Cairo Governor Khaled Abdel Aal on Tuesday , nearly 150,000 school staff members and administrators in public and private schools have been vaccinated against coronavirus in the past two weeks in the governorate alone.
The government has already announced that vaccination is mandatory for school staff nationwide before the school year kicks off in national education system schools next mid October.
