Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reiterated in a meeting on Wednesday with Sudanese counterpart Mariam Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi in Cairo Egypt's firm and strong commitment to supporting the transitional phase in Sudan, the Egyptian foreign ministry said.

According to the Egyptian foreign ministry's statement, the meeting is part of the constant coordination and consultation between Egypt and Sudan regarding various aspects of bilateral relations and regional and international issues of joint interest.

The meeting discussed a number of African and Arab issues of mutual concern and the meeting of the regular session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level on Thursday .

The two officials also asserted during the meeting their keenness on further boosting joint ties on all fronts between the two countries.

Shoukry and Al-Sadiq Al-Mahdi discussed ways to boost joint Arab action mechanisms for facing growing challenges in the Arab world.
