Officials in Tora Prison said Saturday that Egypt's ousted president Hosni Mubarak would be handed tomorrow the blue uniform worn by convicts in Egyptian prisons. They also said he would have his photo taken with his prisoner number in hand.
The ousted president, who received a life sentence this morning in a trial ongoing since August 2011, was transferred from court by helicopter to Tora Prison. On arrival, he refused to exit the helicopter for almost three hours until he finally acceded to security orders.
The court also gave a life sentence to Mubarak's interior minister, Habib El-Adly, on the shared charge of inciting the killing of peaceful protesters during the 18-day uprising in January 2011. El-Adly's six aides, however, were acquitted by the court for lack of effective evidence
