An earthquake measuring magnitude-4.1 hits the ground 22 kilometres southwest of Sharm El-Sheikh in the Sinai peninsula at 11:29am, Hatem Ouda, head of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG) told MENA.
The NRIAG has not reported any physical damages or injuries yet.
Some citizens in the capital Cairo, 650 kilometres away, reported feeling the earthquake.
