The General Prosecutor has sent 15 defendants in the collapsed Alexandria factory case to criminal court.
The factory, a seven-story structure in the Mahrem Bek district in Alexandria, collapsed last December, leaving 26 people dead.
The prosecution took statements from the families of the injured and dead. Several of the families have asked for temporary compensation from the Alexandria governorate and the ministry of labor, claiming that these authorities had neglected their duties when they ignored the factory's many building violations which ultimately led to its collapse.
