His funeral was held after Friday prayers at El-Moushir Tantawy Mosque in New Cairo.
Nassar was chosen as part of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly’s cabinet that formed in June 2018, vowing to increase productivity and exports.
Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea extended condolences to Nassar’s family, hailing the deceased’s contributions to Egyptian industry.
Nassar obtained a university degree in engineering from Cairo University in 1985 and in law in 1990.
He authored a range of studies in the fields of marketing and administration.
Throughout his professional career, Nassar served as an executive consultant for the vehicle manufacturing leading MCV Group, and as a business development consultant at a number of international companies, including Sony, General Electric and ExxonMobil.
Nassar also served as as deputy head of the Egyptian trade ministry’s advisory council for engineering goods export.
From 2008 to 2014, Nassar served as vice chairman of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
