Budget of Egypt's House of Representatives stands at EGP 1.572 billion in FY 2022/23

A report prepared by the Egyptian parliament's Budget Committee showed that the state's new FY 2022/23 budget will increase allocations to the country's 596-member parliament – the House of Representatives — to EGP 1.572 billion, up from EGP 1.471 billion in FY 2021/22.

The report indicated that "out of a budget of EGP 1.572 billion, an amount of EGP 1.014 billion will go to salaries and compensations, EGP 497.7 million will go to commodities and services, and EGP 60 million to buying non-financial assets (investments)."

It is not clear how much is the budget of the Senate – Egypt's consultative upper house. The Senate's budget in FY 2021/22 stood at EGP 581 million.
