
Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and the Chinese ambassador to Egypt Liao Liqiang (centre back) attended the ceremony at the end of the race.
The first segment of the campaign started in the eastern Chinese city of Yangzhou in September last year and concluded in the UK during COP26 held in Glasgow last November.
The next segment of the campaign will be concluded in 2023 during COP28 in UAE’s Dubai.
The Deep Dive campaign is taking place under the slogan “zero carbon, zero waste and clean water” and covered more than 100 canal cities in five continents.
The event, which was sponsored by the Egyptian Rowing Federation and Deep Dive Sports Health of China, attracted over one hundred Egyptian and foreign rowers from all over the world who raced on the Nile River.

Some of the participants will fly to Sharm El-Sheikh to attend the ongoing COP27, according to Ambassador Liqiang.
The Chinese government is willing to work with all parties to promote the success of the climate summit, he stressed.
Meanwhile, Minister Sobhi highlighted that the campaign seeks to raise environmental awareness, spread the culture of environmental protection and maintaining the cleanliness of water bodies and promote sports health.
The Egyptian sports ministry is keen on intensifying such ecofriendly events in the future, Sobhy stressed.
