Ramadan to begin Friday in Egypt

Dar Al-Efta, the highest institution tasked with deciding religious questions and affiliated with Egypt's Al-Azhar, says the Islamic holy month of Ramadan will begin on Friday 20 July

Dar Al-Efta, the highest institution tasked with deciding religious questions and affiliated with Egypt's Al-Azhar, has confirmed that the holy month of Ramadan starts on Friday 20 July.

Muslims fast from dawn until dusk during Ramadan, pursuant to the Islamic doctrine.

Ramadan comes this year amid high noon time temperature up to 40 degrees. The daily fast is also longer in the summer than in the winter.
 
Ramadan will come in summer time for several more years.
