A third Egyptian protester, wounded during clashes with security forces on Tuesday in a nationwide 'day of anger', died in hospital on Wednesday as a result of his wounds, medical sources said.
Gharib Abdelaziz Abdellatif, 45, died of internal bleeding after police shot him in the stomach in the port city of Suez, easy of Cairo, they said. Police were using rubber bullets on the protesters, hospital officials said.
Two other protesters died in Suez on Tuesday as a result of injuries sustained by rubber bullets.
The identities of the two protesters have been confirmed.
They are Soliman Saber Aly, 40 years old, and Mostafa Ragab Abdel Fattah, 25 years old. The names were released Wednesday morning by the Front to Defend Egypt Protesters in a statement that confirmed another 77 were injured and taken to hospitals in the city.
A police officer was killed in Cairo after sustaining a head injury due to stones hurled by protesters.
