Egypt's newly-appointed Presidential Spokesperson Counselor Ahmed Fahmy
In May 2022, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi appointed Rady as Egypt's ambassador-extraordinary and plenipotentiary-extraordinary to Italy, as well as non-resident ambassador to the Republic of San Marino.
Fahmy will become the fourth spokesperson for the Egyptian presidency after Ehab Badawy, Alaa Youssef and Rady.
He received a BS in Economics in 1999 from Cairo University.
He has a Master of Arts (MA) in International Relations from Durham University (UK), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in politics from University of St Andrews (UK), according to his official Linkedin page.
Fahmy has served in a number of capacities in the Egyptian diplomatic core.
He was a political advisor at the Permanent Mission of Egypt to the United Nations in New York.
He served on the Egyptian delegation in the high-level segment meetings of the UNGA during the period from 2016 to 2022.
Fahmy also worked as political advisor at Egypt's general consulate in London and the embassy in Abidjan, Nigeria.
He previously served as an advisor in the Office of the Spokesperson for Egyptian Presidency.
He also worked at the Offices of the Assistant Foreign Minister for Asian, Arab and African Affairs.
