A bus flipped over on the road to Saudi Arabia's Medina carrying members of the Egyptian ministry of justice and their relatives

Five Egyptians were killed and more than a dozen injured on Sunday when their bus flipped over on Hijra Road in Saudi Arabia on the way to Medina.

The victims were all members of Egypt's ministry of justice and their family members, who had just finished their umra (the lesser pilgrimage) and were heading to Medina.

Egypt's general consul in Jeddah, Aly Al-Ashir, sent a delegate to the site of the accident to follow up on the injured's health status. Two of the injured were released after recovering, but the rest remain in King Fahd's Hospital.

Of the six million pilgrims that have visited Mecca since the umra pilgrimage season began in February, Egyptians have comprised the largest contingent from any nation, according to Saudi Arabia's hajj (pilgrimage) ministry.
