"Since the public has the right to know and have immediate and transparent access to the proceedings of the National Dialogue, representatives of accredited Egyptian and foreign press and media outlets in Egypt are all invited to attend the opening session of the dialogue,” Rashwan said.
The session will be held on Wednesday, 3 May 2023, at 2:00 PM in the Nefertiti Hall in the conference centre at the Exhibition Grounds in Nasr City.
The General Coordinator clarified that the presence of journalists and media personnel for coverage does not require a previous invitation.
Representatives of Egyptian press and media outlets should only present their credentials and letters of accreditation from their respective syndicates and organizations.
On the other hand, accredited foreign press and media outlets in Egypt will receive invitations from the State Information Service (SIS).
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi initially proposed holding the 'National Dialogue' in April 2022 to decide on the nation's future political, economic, and social priorities.
According to the dialogue's board of trustees, the National Dialogue will have 19 affiliated committees which will discuss as many as 113 political, economic and social topics.
The opening of the National Dialogue on 3 May comes after more than one year of preparations and arrangements by its 19-member Board of Trustees.
Rashwan is expected to hold a press conference before 3 May to announce the details of the dialogue sessions and answer questions.
