President Sisi appoints Mohamed Shawki Ayad as new prosecutor general for Egypt

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi issued a decree on Thursday to appoint Judge Mohamed Shawki Ayad as a new prosecutor general for the country, effective 19 September.

Judge Mohamed Shawki Ayad has served as the President of the Court of Appeal in Alexandria.

He will replace Prosecutor General Hamada El-Sawy, who has served as prosecutor general since September 2019.

President El-Sisi also issued a decree on Thursday to appoint Tamer Abdel-Hamid Faragani as acting deputy chairman of the Administrative Control Authority (ACA), effective 2 September.
