The two emergency sessions come at the request of several young MPs and senators who stated that the House and the Senate should meet to express solidarity with Palestine and support President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's rejection of Israeli plans to deport Palestinians in Gaza to Sinai.

The Senate will hold an emergency session Wednesday evening, while the House will follow suit on Thursday morning.

Ahmed Manaa, Secretary-General of the House, announced that the House's flags were lowered on Wednesday in line with President El-Sisi's declaration of three days of mourning over the killing of more than 500 Palestinian civilians at a Baptist hospital in Gaza.

Young MPs and senators hailed El-Sisi's speech during a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in which he rejected the attempt to destroy the Palestinian cause and force Gazans out of their territory. The president affirmed that this would negatively affect Egypt's national security and peace treaty with Israel.
