In a statement, Diaa Rashwan, General Coordinator of Egypt's National Dialogue, said the Board of Trustees considered these decisions a prominent and crucial milestone preceding the upcoming National Dialogue sessions about the current economic issues.
Earlier on Wednesday, President El-Sisi directed the government to implement social measures to alleviate the cost of living pressures on citizens, including raising minimum wages for all government workers and raising pensions starting in March
The Board of Trustees stressed that it fully supports the widespread demand for these decisions among Egyptians, adding that these decisions should be accompanied by quick, decisive, and transparent legal actions and measures by the government to ensure market control and prevent any manipulation or exploitation, the statement read.
Earlier this month, President El-Sisi called for a second round of sessions of the National Dialogue to be held to discuss the current economic situation.
The participants in these sessions will be expected to introduce initiatives to support citizens economically and socially amid the current challenges and build a robust and independent Egyptian economy.
