Sisi to swear in as Egypt President for third time on 2 April: Parliament

Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi will be sworn in as President of Egypt for the third presidential term on 2 April at the headquarters of the Egyptian Parliament in the New Administrative Capital (NAC), the General Committee of the House of Representatives said on Sunday.

On 18 December 2023, the head of the National Elections Authority (NEA) announced President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's victory in the presidential elections after obtaining 39,702,000 votes, with a percentage of 89.6 percent.

El-Sisi's new presidential term lasts six years until 2030.

According to the NEA, the Presidential elections saw a turnout of 66.8 percent, with 44.7 million citizens voting at home and abroad out of 67.3 million eligible voters.
