The General Prosecution postponed Sunday questioning members of The New York Times Cairo bureau until a representative of the US embassy is present as well as a translator.
The questioning of Times Cairo bureau chief David Kirkpatrick and reporter Mai El-Sheikh has been postponed to Tuesday, according to the Middle East News Agency.
The two are being questioned in connection to the case against Judge Tahani El-Gebaly filed by former MP Mohamed Omda. El-Gebaly was quoted by the Times to have said that the former ruling military council had used the High Constitutional Court to maintain power, a statement that she refuted having said.
El-Gebaly confirmed that she had been interviewed by the Times but said she did not make the statement and only talked of the negative consequences of rebuilding the state without having written a new constitution.
