Such a decision “will increase cohesiveness between the people and the government in protecting national security,” the board said in a statement released Saturday evening following a meeting that discussed several pressing issues.
The statement added that the platform officials, including General Coordinator of the National Dialogue Diaa Rashwan, will submit a petition to the judicial authorities including a list of the detainees’ names.
According to rights groups, dozens have been detained after participating in protests in support of the Palestinian cause amid the ongoing Israeli war, which killed and injured over 120,000 Palestinians since 7 October.

The board urged continuing popular and political alignment behind the political leadership and its positions in light of the current delicate conditions
Subsidy system
On the domestic front, it has welcomed Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly's decision to refer the issue of transitioning from the current in-kind subsidy system to a cash-based system to the National Dialogue's platform.
The board said it has not yet formulated an opinion on this matter, as it is awaiting the conclusions and recommendations that will emerge from the dialogue’s relative committees.
At the end of the meeting, it called for holding more meetings by the joint committee comprising the government and the National Dialogue to put into effect the outcome of the dialogue's first stage.
The National Dialogue was launched in May 2022 upon a call from President Abdel-Fatah El-Sisi to address Egypt's diverse political, economic, and social issues.
In August 2023, the first round of discussions concluded with a set of recommendations that was delivered to El-Sisi, who ordered enacting the necessary legislation to implement these recommendations.
In January 2024, President El-Sisi called for launching a second round of the National Dialogue to tackle challenges facing the economy.
