Military police try to break up protest on Cairo Ring Road by low-ranking military personnel demanding wage increases

About three hundred low-ranking military officers blocked the Cairo Ring Road's off-ramp to Suez on Wednesday to demand better pay.

The officers began their protest in the early afternoon in front of the Ahmed Galal military training camp, from where they later moved to Cairo's Ring Road, which they blocked, according to Al-Ahram's Arabic-language news website.

As of press time, military police were attempting to disperse the protesters.
