Wael Ghonim, the Google marketing executive who became the icon of Egypt’s revolution, announced today that he plans to collect LE1 bn to help rebuild the country.
Ghonim explained that the money will be used to compensate the families of the martyrs of the revolution and provide medical treatment to those who were injured as a result of the clashes.
Ghonim made the announcement today on the “We are all Khaled Said” Facebook page, adding that he had already talked to businessmen that have agreed to take part.
