The first complete draft of Egypt's new constitution will be revealed to the public on Wednesday, kicking off a campaign aimed at raising awareness and soliciting feedback on the country's first post-Mubarak charter.
The Constituent Assembly will present the new draft of the constitution at a press briefing tomorrow afternoon.
It will simultaneously launch the 'Know Your Constitution' campaign, lasting several weeks and promoting public discussion of the charter ahead of a national referendum.
Mohamed El-Beltagy, head of the assembly's Proposals Committee, says all the drafted articles will be unveiled at the meeting.
A first reading of the draft was held on Monday and attended by representatives from 22 political parties, El-Betagy said. Other groups refused to participate.
The assembly, now threatened by a court verdict which could deem it unconstitutional, has been condemned by some for failing to represent Egypt's cultural diversity.
Several liberal, nationalist and leftist party representatives have withdrawn from the assembly complaining of unbalanced representation.
