Overseas voting for these constituencies ended on Tuesday, while in-country polling will continue through Thursday from 9am to 9pm, in accordance with the official schedule.
A total of 623 candidates are competing for 58 seats in these constituencies, as determined by the High Administrative Court’s rulings on the related appeals.
This number does not include the six seats already decided in four constituencies, Giza in Giza Governorate, Al-Montazah in Alexandria, Al-Mahmoudiya in Beheira, and First Aswan in Aswan Governorate, whose outcomes remain before the Court of Cassation.
The results of the first round in these constituencies will be announced on 18 December.
The run-off round will be held overseas on 31 December and 1 January, and inside Egypt on 3 and 4 January, with final results set to be announced on 10 January.
The 2025 House of Representatives elections are being held under full supervision of the National Elections Authority (NEA).
The first phase of voting, covering 12 governorates, concluded in November. It was followed by appeals submitted by candidates and political campaigns to the High Administrative Court, the final judicial body authorized to rule on electoral disputes related to eligibility, procedures, and vote recounts.
Last week, the NEA announced the results of the first round, confirming the victory of the National Unified List for Egypt, made up of 12 political parties, in the second phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections.
President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s public statements on the elections, shared through his official social-media accounts, have become a focal point in the ongoing process.
He called on the NEA to “fully examine” all reported incidents in constituencies with tight races, stressing that the integrity of the vote depends on “a decision that truly reflects the will of the voters.”
El-Sisi urged the NEA to boost transparency by ensuring that each candidate’s representative receives an authenticated copy of the vote-count records at every subcommittee level, calling this step essential to maintaining trust in the electoral system.
He added that the NEA “must not hesitate to take the correct decision,” including annulling results for entire phases or specific constituencies and ordering repeat voting if the true results cannot be verified.
The president also pressed for the authority to publicly disclose the actions taken in response to campaign violations, arguing that transparency in handling infractions is necessary to prevent their recurrence in later stages of the elections.
