President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi stressed a renewed focus on national security, economic stability, and human development in a comprehensive set of directives issued to the Egyptian government following the recent cabinet reshuffle.

The mandates build on the pillars established in a 2024 presidential decree, which tasked Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly with forming a government to address foreign policy, economic growth, energy production, and food security.

As part of the new directives, the president instructed each ministry to develop detailed operational plans featuring specific targets, funding requirements, and performance indicators, all of which will be subject to rigorous and continuous evaluation.

Central to this strategy is the "Economic Group," with the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs mandated to enhance coordination among ministries to stabilize the economy.

With the current IMF program nearing its conclusion later this year, the president stressed the importance of innovative approaches to reducing public debt while ensuring that any new measures are carefully studied for their long-term impact.

The presidential directives further called for accelerating the State Ownership Policy to increase private sector participation in the economy and exploring high-growth sectors such as technology and rare minerals.

On the social front, the president emphasized the sustainable development of the education and healthcare systems, alongside a commitment to upholding the values of citizenship and non-discrimination.

Furthermore, the government was tasked with completing constitutional requirements for local councils to ensure popular participation in monitoring administrative performance.

To support these goals, President El-Sisi emphasized the crucial role of a professional national media in providing transparent information to the public, promoting constructive dialogue, and countering misinformation amid ongoing national challenges.

Earlier on Tuesday, Egypt’s parliament approved a major cabinet reshuffle, endorsing President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi’s nomination of 22 candidates to join Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly’s government.

Earlier, El-Sisi met Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly to discuss the cabinet reshuffle, according to the presidency.

The reshuffle includes 17 ministers, one deputy prime minister and four deputy ministers. It brings in 13 new ministers, while 11 others leave.

New governments are typically formed at the beginning of each parliamentary term, either through a comprehensive ministerial overhaul or a partial reshuffle.
