A Cairo administrative court has decided on Tuesday to delay trial proceedings in a case calling for cancellation of an earlier prime ministerial decree issued by former PM Essam Sharaf in 2011 to remove name of ousted Hosni Mubarak from all public establishments.

Trial proceedings will resume on 8 January, when the original copy of the decree will be examined.

The State commissioner's office issued a report in which he recommended that the court to support the PM's decision to remove Mubarak's name, based on "the revolutionary legitimacy created by Egypt's January 25 revolution" and Mubarak's ouster from power.

The law suit was filed by a number of Mubarak loyalists.

Last year, Egypt removed the name of the ousted dictator and his spouse from tens of public schools.
