Signed petition delivered by protesters at the Libyan Consulate in Alexandria

Hundreds of young activists demonstrated today in front of the Libyan Consulate in Alexandria to express their solidarity with the Libyan people.

The Egyptian protesters held banners asking the Libyan regime to respect the people’s demands for change and to avoid using violence against the protesters.

A statement, signed by various political groups in Egypt as well as youths behind the January 25 revolution, was delivered to the consulate for the attention of the Libyan government.

Yesterday, hundreds of Libyans protested demanding that Moammar Gadhafi steps down and asking for political and economic reform. The protests are believed to have been inspired by the revolutions that took place in Tunisia and Egypt.
