Tuesday, Cairo is set for an emergency Arab League meeting to discuss Libyan revolt

The Arab League will hold an emergency meeting in Cairo for delegates on Tuesday to discuss the Libyan revolt against Muammar Gaddafi, the League declared.

Libyan security forces have cracked down violently on anti-government demonstrators. Fighting has spread to the capital, Tripoli, after erupting in Libya's oil-producing east last week.

The meeting will be at an ambassadorial level and will take place at 5 p.m. Cairo time (1500 GMT).
