Verdicts are to be announced in the trial of protesters accused of vandalism and illegal assembly during 2011's Mohamed Mahmoud Street clashes

Cairo Criminal Court will announce its verdict Saturday in the trial of dozens of protesters on charges of vandalism and illegal assembly related to their involvement in the Mohamed Mahmoud Street clashes in November 2011.

The trial began July 2012 and involves 379 people, including three Americans and one Syrian and over 50 minors, accused of attacking security forces guarding the Ministry of Interior, and of carrying firearms and bladed weapons.

At least 41 protesters died and thousands were injured during five days of street battles after police forces violently dispersed a sit-in on Tahrir Square on 19 November.
