Members of the Ahrar movement, followers of popular Salafist preacher Hazem Salah Abu-Ismail, have been released on bail.
They were arrested during violent clashes at Mansoura University earlier this month.
Clashes erupted during a protest against the university administration after a student was hit by a car and killed.
Some students, reportedly belonging to Ahrar, attempted to barricade the university building in a move that was opposed by other students and led to the clashes. Ahrar members from outside the university joined the fighting.
Eighteen members of the movement were arrested and bail was set at LE1000, according to Al-Ahram Arabic news website.
