Prosecutor-general asked for asset freeze of ousted Egyptian president, Mubarak amid suspicions of corruption. Appeals court upholds request

Cairo's Appeal Court upheld on Saturday a decision by prosecutor-general, Abdel-Megid Mahmoud, to freeze the financial assets of former president Hosni Mubarak and his family.

Mubarak’s estimated fortune didn’t match his monthly presidential salary, which was estimated at LE12thousand (roughly $2100USD) per month without benefits.
