Egyptian Foreign Ministry: 145,000 Egyptians back from Libya and Tunisia

Many thousands of Egyptians have reached home after escaping violence in Libya, Foreign Ministry announces

The total number of Egyptians returning from Libya and Tunisia has reached 145,000 until yesterday night, according to Mohamed Abdel Hakam, ambassador and assistant Egyptian foreign minister for consulate affairs.

Abdel Hakam announced during a press conference today that Egyptians coming through Saloum road reached 2537, while 2300 Egyptians have reached Egypt by ship. Some 12,300 Egyptians reached Egypt via EgyptAir evacuation planes.

The total number of Egyptians coming from Tunisia has reached 49,000.
