Chairman of EgyptAir’s Board of Directors Hussein Masoud hit back at claims of poor service and lack of comfort made in a BusinessInsider.com piece entitled “The 10 Worst Airlines in the World”.
BusinessInsider.com stated that EgyptAir was rated the ninth worst airline in the world describing its “service crew to be inattentive, the seats uncomfortable and plane bathrooms dirty.”
The chairman stressed that EgyptAir is not ranked the ninth worst airline in the world, pointing out that the Egyptian airline is part of the global Star Alliance which imposes strict standards on those seeking accession.
Masoud stressed that EgyptAir is considered to be one of the largest airlines operating in both Africa and the Middle East, making BusinessInsider.com’s claims invalid.
Moreover, he accused the business news site of not carrying out any scientific inquiry in this particular category. He emphasised his point, saying that other companies are considered to be some of the best global airlines given their existing alliances, yet they are placed on the same list with EgyptAir.
He added that such ratings are nothing but an unacceptable method to give competitors an unfair advantage.
