Interior minister sacks head of Giza security directorate over clashes that killed 18 at Cairo University on Tuesday night

Minister of Interior Mohamed Ibrahim has sacked the chief of Giza security directorate over clashes that killed 18 and injured hundreds at Cairo University on Tuesday night.

Hussein El-Kady has been appointed to replace Abdel-Maged Lotfy.

Violent clashes erupted at Cairo University between supporters and opponents of President Morsi on Tuesday.
