Former director of the UN's nuclear agency Mohamed ElBaradei was sworn in as vice president of international relations on Sunday before Egyptian interim President Adly Mansour at presidency headquarters in Cairo.
Nobel peace prize winner ElBaradei was initially tipped to be premier during the transitional period before taking up the vice president position.
A new government has yet to be formed following the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi and his regime, which was part of the armed forces' roadmap for the country's future that was enforced after nationwide mass protests against Morsi.
