Supporters and opponents of former president Mohamed Morsi protest in Egypt's restive peninsula where dozens have died in attacks by alleged militants since 3 July

Hundreds are protesting in support of the army's campaign against terrorism in North Sinai's Al-Arish on Friday afternoon. Young members of local tribes are chanting in support of the army.

Supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi are demanding his reinstatement at a separate protest in the city.

Twenty-three members of the security forces and ten civilians have been killed in Al-Arish by suspected Jihadist militants since the ousting of Morsi on 3 July 2013.

In South Sinai, pro-army protests are taking place in a number of cities, including El-Tor, El-Sheikh and Naema Bay.

In El-Tor, local Bedouin and tourism sector workers are holding banners saying "Together against terrorism," "The people, the army and the police are one hand," "Long live Egypt,” and chanted "Crush them El-Sisi."
